Hello,

As many of you know, Minecraft 1.7.2, the update that changed the world, recently came out. However, there hasn't been a Bukkit release yet. This is because the update has changed the multiplayer listener code. However, Spigot, a fork of Bukkit, has been updated to Minecraft 1.7.2. This tutorial will explain how to update, and all you need to know.

Q: Will my plugins still work?

A: Most of them. Some of them, however, may glitch out. Remember, you are updating at your own risk and md_5, the developer of Spigot, does not support this.

Q: Has BungeeCord been updated?

A: Yes it has, although I will be making another tutorial explaining this later.

THE PROCESS OF UPDATING

Step #1: Click hereto go to md_5's Spigot 1.7 page.

Step #2: Find the 'Latest stable build' link on the page, and click on it.

Step #3: Place the spigot.jar in the root folder, and replace craftbukkit.jar or your current spigot.jar.

MULTICRAFT NOTICE: To update, you need the ability to change JARs. Many hosts have this enabled, although some don't. If they don't, you cannot update until they update their environment

If changing JARs is enabled, follow the steps below:

Create a folder called 'jar' -> upload Spigot -> go to main page, and change JAR name to spigot.jar

Step #4:. Restart your server.

Congratulations! You have just updated your server to Minecraft 1.7! Feel free to add a server icon, and take advantage of the new features. Enjoy!
