1. Download your skin.
2. Get a program called gimp, you can do this through utorrent ect
3. Download a shading template off planet minecraft.
4. Open Gimp and drag both skins into the workspace in the order of the skin FIRST then the shading template. (there is a little zoom area at the bottom I recomend that you put it up to 800%)
5. Click on the template in the layers (on the right), go up to the top of that little window and find the bit where it says Mode: normal
6. Click on normal go down and select grain merge.
7. Once that is done go up to the top of the your screen and find the dropdown tool colours or colors select brightness and contrast and drag the dots around until you get it to the desired look (0 is default)
8. Go back to the window on the right and click the eye on the layer called backround. (you should see checkered grayish colours appear and that means it is working correctly.
9. To export this you want to go up to the top of your scrren again and then select file, go down till you find export as, select that and a little window should appear, save the skin somewhere that you can find it and call it what you want.
10. Enjoy your newly shaded skin.
