I'd like to give a brief tutorial on how to allocate more RAM to minecraft
Now I used to have a huge problem with random fps drops and an average fps of 10-15 but I then noticed that Java doesn't have that much default memory.. So you can change that with a few simple steps
Step 1
Navigate to this button
Step 2
Open the "control pannel"
Step 3
Click "programs"
Step 4
Find the "java" button
Step 5
Out of the 5 tabs on the top of the window that pops up click the "Java" one
Step 6
Hit "View..."
Step 7
You should get a screen LIKE (they won't have the same stuff in the boxes because I have like 300 versions of java) this
Step 8
you're going to want to add this code into "runtime parameters"
For reference the code is: -Xmx1024m
This lets Java run with more allocated memory
Note: In this example 1024 is the amount of memory that java will use, you can try 512 for smaller machines or 2048 for larger ones. 1024 is good for what you need though.
Note2: You may want to do this for the "system" tab as well if you have administrator on your computer
Step 9
Now just hit "ok"
Step 10
And in this window just hit "apply" to save your changes :)
That's all for now, guys!
Thanks for stopping.
I'd love to offer additional help if you need it. Just ask in the comments
