Today I'm gonna learn you how to make a Minecraft Bukkit 1.9 Server (uhh, so long name).
Steps:
- Make a new folder, the name doesn't care and the place doesn't too. (You need to find it back later though.)
- Go to: http://getspigot.org/. (Note: This isn't the official website of Bukkit.)
- Download either Bukkit or Spigot. Choose the version you want.
- Move the file (.jar) to the folder you just made.
- Double-click it.
- Wait until you see a text file named eula.txt
- Change eula=false, to eula=true. (I recommend reading the EULA first. https://account.mojang.com/documents/minecraft_eula)
- Double-click the .jar file again.
- If no more files are being created you create a new file called: start
- Copy/paste this in here: java -Xmx1024M -jar <name_of_jar_file>.jar -o truePAUSE
- Save it as: start.bat (the .bat is very important.)
- Double click the start.bat.
- And your server is running! Please note: Only you can access the server from YOUR computer.
Configuring
- Open the server.properties file. Here you can configure the most things of your server. On http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Server.properties you can see what everything means.
- Install plugins. I would recommend: http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/ or http://mods.curse.com/bukkit-plugins/minecraft/downloads.
- You move the .jar file of plugins into the plugins folder in your server folder.
- Configure the plugins in their config.yml (you'll need to run your server again first)
Portforwarding
Sorry I have no time to do this now, come back in 2 or 3 days.
