This is my first blog post, and i will probably not make more blog posts after this one. I just feel that i wanted to help
you guys out with the building. Especially those who may have given up on building.
Are you like many others? That you may want to build awesome creations but you feel like you fail everytime you
attempt to build something awesome? To be honest im not a professional builder but i do have enough experience to give
some tips to you guys out there.

Also, sorry if there is grammar issues. English is not my native language.

1. Environment

This is more important than you think. The better the environment looks, the better your build will look.
With the perfect environment even the crappiest builds can look amazing.
Amazing builds will look even more amazing with the perfect environment.

How can you improve the environment?

You could use WorldPainter to edit the environment around your build, that takes the most time but you may get the best results.
Or you can always do it the classic way if you are for example on a multiplayer server.
You can add trees, flowers, lightning and even smaller creations. Like a bench or a small lake and maybe a lamp?
Just let the creativity flow! :)

2. Experimenting with Designs.

Don`t get too comfortable with a house design, always experiment with your designs. Like what
would it look like if i added a few stairs or maybe a slab here and there?
Don`t be afraid of trying new designs and building styles, the more you try the more you learn.

3. Inspiration

This is the most important part when it comes to building. Always look what others have built and how they detail
and decorate their builds. You can look on the project page on PMC and download a few maps and check them
out, you will get tons of inspiration and ideas from doing this. I get most of my inspiration from PMC but from
multiplayer servers as well.

I dont find any inspiration, how can i get inspired?

Take a look and check out how the creation was built.
Take a close look at the details and the decor.
You can also take inspiration from real life, check out google and google on a few creations.
Like a tall skyscraper or maybe a statue? Or a house in the woods?
There is infinite amounts of inspiration out there, you can find inspiration anywhere, even inside your own house,
or on your backyard.

4. Imitating Other Builds

No need to get alarmed. Imitating others builds in a single player world just for practise and training pruposes
will greatly improve your building skills.
( Just don`t upload or share the imitated version on the internet for obvious reasons.)

This goes for details and decor too, found an awesome bench design or a boat design? Dont be afraid of using the design, also
try to improve the bench design, like can you make the bench design look even better? Can you make a few
changes on the design to make it more functional?

Just let the inspiration and creativity flow!

5. Different Blocks.

Don`t stick to only 1-2 blocks on your build, use more and different blocks too!
Like maybe add a few cobblestone blocks there? And maybe a few pieces of green clay here?
Dont be afraid of building with a lot of different blocks, it will greatly improve your build, rather
than building with only 2-3 types of wood blocks.

6. Exterior & Interior

Do you have a simple house design done? Maybe you may think the design looks too simple.
But don`t destroy it, build a exterior on top of what you already built.
Like add a few fences on the wall? Or maybe a few stairs? Let the creativity flow and dont
be afraid of trying and playng around with exterior designs.

Same goes for interior, an awesome interior will greatly improve the build.
The interior can be basicly anything, a few furnaces here and maybe a few books there?
Play around with interior designs and you will find the perfect design.

Don`t give up on building, if you really want to be a good builder who builds amazing builds you must practise
There is no cheap and fast way to become a experienced builder. I have practised a lot to get to my
level of building experience. Anyways i do hope this helped you out. Took a while to make this so a Diamond
is appreciated. :)

No, download forge and then download worldedit for forge. Worldedit use to only be available on a server but you can dowload forge and do it that way. You can use other mods or ways but forge does not corrupt worlds. Trust me I have it and use It nearly every day
  1. First, dowload and install Minecraft Forge.
  2. Download WorldEdit and put the file into your "mods" folder.
  3. Run your game or server!

mcedit is easy but there is no need to fight about it. it's just 2 programs.

McEdit Link

You'll need it if you are using MCEdit Schematics, or import stuff into your mc world. MCEdit Schematics appear everywhere on Planet Minecraft.
