Minecraft has changed. No doubting that. It hasn't always been full of potions, enchantment tables, and many other different and semi-futuristic things. Has it gotten too advanced overtime? I really don't have a major opinion. I actually have two completely different ones.
My First Opinion: Minecraft has NOT changed for the better.
I started playing minecraft in Beta 1.6. It was extremely simple and cool. There was nothing to throw you off and everything was pretty easy to understand, not like newer minecraft. Survival is a great aspect and I believe it reached it's highest point around that time period. Servers also didn't have confusing plugins and many servers were survival (at least that's how I remember it). Life was much simpler.
You might think, wow, Char definitely doesn't have a good argument for the second one. But no, as I said before, I do.
My Second Opinion: Minecraft has changed for the better.
The new updates are cool. Really cool. Confusing, but once you've mastered them it makes the game more fun to play. Enchanting and potions make PvP better in general, and lots of new, awesome plugins make the game less boring, (For example, CTF has put a whole new aspect into minecraft.) and more attractive to people who want to start to play the game. Just having these new things makes me want to get on minecraft more, and take a break from the same old routine.
I find it interesting that I have both of these very different opinions. It's always been hard for me to decide, never reaching a conclusion. What do you think?

its for the gods)
It helps refresh the game when it starts to feel kind of stale.
It adds more blocks which are basically more textures you can play with to make more awesome things.
It gives you more to do, more to see, and more to experience.
It helps balance the game and make things interesting (Look at zombies, they are scary now).
Every few updates they add more mobs which are more things to kill/tame, more interesting scenarios to encounter.
If its too confusing pull up the wiki, if its too much all at once, play the older versions and move up at your own pace, really do whatever.
