Halloween.
Maybe 2014, mightve been before.
Got roped into playing Minecraft for the night by my brother.
I was too old for the trick-or-treating at this rate.
It was those old adventure maps,
before the mode of the same name
even existed.
"Zombie Survival!" was the name,
or something like that.
Had a texture pack too,
before the edited of other resources
even existed.
The premise was to survive,
and venture ever forward.
Those kind of maps
tended to be like that.
The zombies were decently real!
And all bows were rifles.
Scary enough for me
to be scared,
but not enough
to stop.
We had ventured quite into
the thick of the plot,
something about a bomb
ready to blow.
Or maybe it was a helicopter.
But either way, something had happened.
Something ending the game
did not trigger.
We were left against endless zombies.
Horde after horde,
because something was wrong.
Something was bugged.
We both had a pretty
frustrating night,
but we had a good laugh
about it after realizing
that something was bugged.
And as for candy,
we weren't too old for that.
No one is.
But at some point,
you gotta wait for the sale.
