Let's face it. Almost every Minecraft builder faces this tough choice when uploading a project to PMC. "Should I, or should I not provide the download?" But in the end, a lot come to the conclusion that its just not worth it if someone is going to use your work on their server, youtube channel, sometimes even repost it as their own. Therefore, I took the time to come up with a "Proper way to give credit" for someone else's work.

The Disclaimer:
Providing a disclaimer is probably one of the most, if not THE most important part of this problem. Once you use a map, make a cinematic for someone's map or just reuse their content in any way, shape, or form, you will upload said product somewhere. The people who see it will then see the content & ask themselves. "If this was not him, then who made it?" This is why the disclaimer is such a huge part of this problem. When people wonder who made it, they will want to find out more, when they find out more, they check the content creator's other projects. Helps the creator build a fanbase as well as get some views.

Providing the Link to the Original Thread:

Now they know you are not the content owner. So who made it? By providing a link to the original thread, you ensure that the content owner will get the praise, views & comments he deserves. In a way, you could even consider it promotion for the person's map. Truth is, when people build these maps, they are putting in countless of hours, clicks & drops of imagination to their builds. The only form of pay (Commission Builders do not apply) they receive is a few likes, diamonds, favorites, & comments of people who truly liked (or loved) what they saw. PROMOTE THEM PEOPLE!

Last but certainly not least, tell the content creator:
Believe it or not, its truly a joyous feeling to see what others are doing with your things. Say you build 30 miniature statues. You want to see how people are using your statues, see how they've come up with some of their own designs. If someone is using your world painter map, you might want to see what they built on it. (Or how they totally & utterly destroyed it with TNT) Some people would not want to see their great megabuild edited, but maybe you turned it into a Hunger Games map, maybe you even want to see how they used it as a server spawn.

That's it for today, thank you all for reading. Let me know if you agree (or disagree) in the comment section below. Maybe add on to some of the points I made above. What do you think is the proper way to credit someone for their content?

As a matter of fact, of course you are so ignorant you clearly do not understand, anything built by you is owned by you. You are allowed to sell, buy, trade Minecraft builds & other Minecraft creations. I am actually laughing out loud, if someone sat on Minecraft all day, I would probably upload videos everyday, would not take an entire month or more to post on my PMC & do a livestream every once in a while, whenever I find the time. Good attempt at making me look bad though, unfortunately for you, I do not bum Minecraft all day lad.
