Yep, Char here with another rant. If you disagree please DO NOT tell me in a non-civilized way. (ex. ur rant sux disrespect is not a problem you [insert insult here]) We are all entitled to our own own opinions.
Hey, we all deserve respect. It helps bind the community. It's almost like PMC is a shirt, and the weaves of respect keep it together. Lately on PMC though, I've seen some really bad stuff going on. Spam, hate, trolls, you name it are coming basically out of no where and destroying our community. It's bad. Really bad. We can't afford to have this stuff.
Fine, you don't like a post. That's okay. You cross the line when you insult them because of what they posted or how they did it. Disrespectfullness hurt everyone, including you. Your reputation is ruined if you don't follow theetiquetteof a critic, and telling the person it's bad. It also hurts the person. They took a lot of time, (usually) to make this post. Why would you hurt them because of it? It really doesn't add up.
There is no excuse to do something like this. We are a community, whether you like it or not. If you don't like it, (I wonder why you wouldn't, you joined...) get off PMC. If you find people upset funny, you actually have a serious problem. I don't care whether you hate the person, or you don't even know them. It doesn't matter. It's mean no matter how you do it. And when you don't give people who deserve respect, respect, everything falls apart.
Some people deserve respect. PMC mods, super mods, developers and the rest of them all deserve it. If you don't give them the respect they deserve, and treat them meanly or act annoying around them, you'll be disrespected. It's almost like a chain of karma. You're disrespectful, nobody respects you. Also, depending on how much you disrespect, you could be banned. Crazy, right? But it happens, especially if you're excessively mean to someone, and it gets out of hand.
Respect people and nothing bad will happen. Even if the person doesn't deserve respect, you should respect them anyway. As I said above, respect holds the community, (and even life) together like weaves in a shirt.
