This is something that I've been thinking about for a long time, and I think it's finally time to spread the word. Pretty much anything has a group of people that enjoy it, and a group of people that hate it, and I'm about to do my best to stop the arguing.
As of recent, I finished a series of FNaF skins that I have been working on since around the time the original game came out. Over time, I saw the fandom grow from the inside, but I never experienced what it was like to be on the other side of the spectrum, as a hater. Upon finishing the series, I was able to take a step back, and sort of got sucked into another fandom (Undertale). When this happed, I suddenly lost interest in FNaF, and gained a new perspective. I understood why peope hated it. For someone who is not part of the fandom, it's logical to be annoyed by a constant stream of things that you don't enjoy.
HOWEVER. It's not okay to hate others for something that they enjoy, when it's not hurting anyone else. all you're going to do is generate more attention towards that fandom, and if you're trying to convince someone that something they love is bad (even when that's just your opinion), they aren't going to change. Think of something you like. That great feeling you get when you talk to others about it is the same way fans feel about there thing.
Don't think I'm done just yet though, because I'm tackling members of fandoms next. You need to draw the line at some point. As much as you like something, you need to honor other's requests, and not constantly reference the topic. The fandom that is most guilty of this is the FNaF fandom. I understand you like it, and that's fine. You're free to enjoy what you want to! Just mke sure that you aren't obsessing over something, as that can really get on other's nerves.
I just hope Undertale doesn't have the same fate as FNaF, as I love the game, but the fanbase is just... eugh. Unfortunately, that's what it's looking like.
