Hey guys, I am here with my list of ways to remove lag, green text means its one of the best ways, yellow text is when it doesn't work the best- or isn't easy to understand, and red text is when its just a joke. :)

If there are any ways to remove lag that I did not mention, please comment with the removal and details, if you want me to add another joke, make sure it is LAG RELATED or it will not get published.

Edit: About 5 more diamonds until we make this a popular blog :D

Lets get started!

1. Use "Fast" graphics instead of fancy.

2. Stop playing Minecraft, eat some bon-bons, and go back to bed. (Not recommended).

3. Reduce the amount of chunks your render distance is. (if you are using a version before 1.7, please go to #26.

4. Turn snooper settings off,
it doesn't have to send extra packets that way, this freeing up bandwidth and processor usage.

5a. Pour coffee into your disk drive- your CPU is sleepy, so a little caffeine will help. (Not Recommended)

5b. If your computer isn't affected by caffeine, then put it to sleep. :) (Recommended)

6. Turn bobbing off- I am not completely sure if this works. CAUTION: Looks as weird as heck.

7. Have a small window, this doesn't help much, but it will work a little bit.

8. Allow more than 1GB of memory to be used in Minecraft- you'll need a bit more ram than the average computer to do this correctly.

9. Throw out your 2005 laggy PC and get a Mac. :P (Only joke here that is part way serious.)

10. Turn off clouds- looks better, clouds don't get in the way of your creation, and a few other pros. Only con is that it takes a little bit of getting used to if you had it on.

11. It may seem like you're having lag (especially in a new update) because you're using a texture pack with portals and fire in the dirt. You're not having lag- its just that the texture pack is a little outdated. Try going back to default.

12. Throw broccoli at your computer to get the point across. This is the only possible way you can see a freezer with broccoli in a house with one person living in it that hates vegetables. :) (Not Recommended)

13. Your computer might need to be restarted. Try that :)

14. Play classic :P (minecraft.net/classic)

15. Remove entities (especially in single player). An entity is an animal, monster, painting, or minecart in Minecraft.

16. Quote from Yodud333 "
By the way, a way I get rid of lag on my mates pc is by ~snip due to the fact that this is in the post~ turning on 'Smooth lighting' (Yeah you heard me) And when the fps starts to die, go into video settings, and turn smooth lighting on and off. It helps (For a short time anyway)"

17. Quote from demonicmuffins"Contact Notch and yell at him and say he's a bad programmer and he should get to work on it right now. (sarcasm)"

18. Quote from sintin 80 "lol try disk clean up and the disk defrag these two can help but then again it my not.also try going to computer right click the one named after you'r computer and then go to properteis then form there go to remote settings then you'll want to go to advanced tab click performance settings from there you can turn off some of the visual effects once you'r done that may reduce lag i dont know if this works on mac. hope it helps :)"

19. Quote from Madegie "Flip the render distance around from far back to far. It reloads the chunks."

20. Quote from Nyan catz "I know one! :D (Joke) Get singleplayer commands, then keep spamming "/Spawn Enderdragon" Or, you can do: "/Setspeed 500000" If that doesin't work, get Herobrine to assassinate Notch. :P"

21. Quote from pacopdpp, "Don't forget to turn performance to max FPS"

22. Quote from coolhead17, "Threaten your computer to add to the FPS or you will un-plug it works EVERY time with me(joke)(Note:may cause friends to think you're crazy 'Sometimes')."

23. Quote from GunmanBear "Get the xray mod and if it lags press x and x again for reload FAST! Yeah!"

24. Quote from TheSilentDwarf: "Get a Really Good texture pack 512x512 and go to the biggest server with lots of people and go to a place where there is lots of tnt and set them off (joke)"

25. Quote from Haasman29: "Turn on Advanced OpenGL. I went from 24 fps to about 49."

26. (1.6 or older) Make sure your render distance is not far. Set it to medium, short, or even tiny.
CreditSome facts given to me by xbox2031, a school friend of mine who owns the channel I share with him and has severe lag :)

You do realize you can have both on a mac right? There's a software called Boot Camp. If I desperately need a PC I can just use that. The performance overall on a mac is better than most PCs

Actually, fullscreen makes you lag less. It's because of the way the Windows Application Window is parsed that requires RAM and such.

I would presume both would work, considering that 1. If it's full screen it doesn't have to load the window menu. 2. If it's smaller, the application window would take up less RAM, due to a smaller size.

I would think that too, but I've tested it many times on a few different computers, and the fullscreen seems to be faster by 6-8 FPS each time.
