Shelf storage
some things in life minecraft won't give us like custom furnitures or more storage options... This datapack changes that and adds a custom stone blocks to minecraft that will give your home a more cosy & custom feel!
Current limitations :
- due to in game limitations you can only mine these with iron/better pickaxes
- it will also not burn like most wood blocks but I'm considering a way that might fix it rn
- Any datapacks that unlock all recipes will break this pack!
Installing:
Once the data-pack is installed you can verify it's working by doing /datapack list
and ensuring it shows up on the screen without a red name
Blocks:
Shoji Box
When crafted it looks like a nice paper box, put any torch in it and it becomes a paper lantern! A very nice decoration block for any cute cherry house!
Drawer
A simple decorative block
Display Case
Displays the leftmost item stored in that block. This is useful for shops that sell rare items or showing off one-of-a-kind blocks e.g. the dragon egg
Clay Pot
A mainly decorative block that will display various powder textures when the leftmost slot contains a "powdery item". Why don't you try discover them all!
Crate
A mainly decorative block that will display various powder textures when the leftmost slot contains "crate worthy item". Why don't you try discover them all!
Eldritch Shelf
The shelf will display how full it is based on how many slots are filled
Soul Shrine
Having items inside this block will power the soul shrine and emit souls, the intensity depending on the amount of slots filled!
Firelight core
Having items inside this block will power the firelight core and emit firelights, the intensity is depending on the amount of slots filled!

Uninstalling:
Run /reload and using the Chat-based GUI navigate to:

The cherry update:
Added the new shoji box!
- A new decorative block that makes use of the cherry wood palette
- When placed it acts like nomral storage and can hold up to 5 items
- If any torch is placed inside, the block will light up and become a paper lantern
Bugfixes
- fixed a bug causing the blocks to rotate incorrectly on multiplayer servers
- removed the shelve block. It has now been replaced with the chiselled bookshelf... a block which is now in the base game

I used your pack for a day or so, and I liked your pack, but there were some inconvenient things.
First, when placing a block, a block sort of rotated 'smoothly', which wasn't that pretty.
Second, there wasn't a sound when placing a block, so I kept felt that I didn't place a block.
So, I modified your pack a bit, and these inconvenience are gone now. When I modified the 'EntityTag' part of the spawn egg(or the block placing item) to make armor stand have Rotation and Pose tag with the value of [0f] and [0f,0f,0f], the 'smooth' rotation animation was gone and the block was rotated to it's right location instantly. I don't know why this happens, but it does work. The way I fixed the second inconvenience is really simple. I just added /playsound command to every "summon" function.(stone placing sound for clay pot, wood placing sound for almost every block, except firelight core which also has mangrove root placing sound and soul shrine which also has soul sand placing sound)
This doesn't require any resource pack update and improves the quality by a lot. I uploaded the modified pack here(click the left 'download' button). Please try it out and update your pack if you want.
By the way, I also changed shelf crafting recipe to fix the collision with 1.19.3 chiseled bookshelf recipe.
As for the chiselled bookshelf I was originally intending on scrapping the shelf block when update 1.20 comes around. With the changes to how experimental features are now loaded now, I'll have to make some changes so expect to see that soon.
