Description
The ReCategorizer is a complete redesign of the Categorizer Multi-Item Sorting System (MISS). It's a redstone contraption that helps you organize your item storage in game by sorting items into preset categories customized by the players.
Example: It allows you to sort all the different concrete colors into a single chest, or all items related to oak, etc.

The ReCategorizer is a complete redesign of the Categorizer Multi-Item Sorting System (MISS). It's a redstone contraption that helps you organize your item storage in game by sorting items into preset categories customized by the players.
Example: It allows you to sort all the different concrete colors into a single chest, or all items related to oak, etc.
Features:
- Categories now support up to 54 different items.
- The inconvenient redstone balancing is not required anymore!
- Simpler control circuit! It's less than half the size of the previous MISS!
- Loading & unloading items is now done partially in parallel, which means this system is faster.
- The configuration chests are way easier to access from the back now.
- Non-stack-able items now get sorted to the "un-categorized" chests.
- Works mostly silently (you might hear rails occasionally).
- The overflow protection stops & restarts the system automatically and is individual for each slice/category.
- Lamp indicators now precisely indicate where items go. There is one indicator to tell when items have all been sorted.
- Curved rails, shorter paths, parallel item transfer, independent sections with other minor changes make this system over 60% faster than the Categorizer Reloaded on average.

ive double and triple checked everything each time i try but the same thing is happening.. ive been using the tutorial and the world download to troubleshoot but i can seem to find the issue.. please help i'm so close and it's taken me a week of actual playtime to get this built.
I am looking some advice on trouble shooting the system. I am currently have an issue that my filter item does not get returned to the filter chest. Both the items to be sorted and the item in the filter chest end up in the uncategorized slice at the end. I have looked through for incorrect parts and even rebuilt one slice but no fix yet. This part of my system has six slices next to each other. The first two are working perfectly but the four after are all experience this same issue.
Does anyone have advice?

There seems to be an issue when the sorter is oriented East -> West. Sorting more than one stack of the same item results in that item ending up in the non-categorised slice.
The comparator locking the slice hopper does not seem to unlock the second time the minecart passes over the slice, causing items to go to the end.
Every other direction orientation works perfectly fine.
I tested this using Litematica which can perfectly copy and rotate the slice in v2.0.1 so human error during construction is not a factor and it is using your most up-to-date version.
About mods: Both Litematica as well as World Edit are known to fail to properly update redstone components and rails when pasting schematics so you might have to check your build. You can also search our Discord server to find answers related to such issues.

In the official map, I have tried all 4 rotations of the wall using Litematica, and 3 of them work perfectly fine, so I assume Litematica is successfully copying and rotating blocks and entities. The only one that consistently does not work is the East -> West orientation.
Further, this seems consistent with my findings in my Survival world where I had originally followed the tutorial to build 2 segments without the use of Litematica. Once again the East -> West segment in my Survival world has this issue while the West -> East one works correctly.
