“From a shot that would change the world Tensions rise and a war is unfurled Nothing like what had come before It's the war that will end all war”
- “Sarajevo” from The War to End All Wars (album released 3-4-2022) by Sabaton
“Signed a treaty to change the world Tensions fall and a peace unfurled Nothing like what had come before It's the deal, it's the treaty that will end the war”
- “Versailles,” also from The War to End All Wars These are the first and last songs on the album, named after the places where World War I started and ended. As you can guess, “Sarajevo” is about the assassination of the Archduke, and “Versailles” is about the Treaty of Versailles. Both songs are instrumentals, with a narrator describing the events they’re based on. In between the dialogue, there is a repeating segment of singing. For “Versailles,” there are two repeating segments, plus a reprise of the “Sarajevo” chorus. I love the way the band did this, bookending the album with two songs that have similar melodies and choruses, and ending the album on the eerie and foreshadowing questions of “Will this war really end all wars? / Can a war really end all war?”
the doctors finally found that whatever was in his lungs was not in fact cancerous!! we already planned on just doing a bunch of things with family during what we assumed was his last year, but now we just get a fun trip to places like the grand canyon :)
this is something of a miracle for us :DD
we're not quite sure what they were yet, but for now we just have the joy of having something confirmed
My sister and I were cutting out laminated pieces of paper for something. We had this huge pile of strips of transparent plastic that neither of us wanted. Sooooooooooo I went into my brothers room...
Me: "Do you want invisible spaghetti?" Brother 1, most likely thinking I'm joking: "Yes." Me: "You have to sign an invisible contract." *pretends to hold out piece of paper* "Sign with your finger." Brother 1: *pretends to sign imaginary contract* Me: *goes over to Brother 2* "Do you want invisible spaghetti?" Brother 2, probably also thinking that I'm joking: "Yes." *pretends to sign contract* Me, leaving: "Ok! I'll go get your invisible spaghetti." Me: *Comes back and dumps plastic strips in Brother 1's hands* "Here's your spaghetti!"
“Osowiec then and again Attack of the dead, hundred men Facing the lead once again Hundred men charge again, die again Osowiec then and again Attack of the dead, hundred men Facing the lead once again Hundred men charge again, die again”
- “The Attack of the Dead Men” from The Great War (single/remix released 5-10-2020) by Sabaton This battle - the Battle of Osowiec Fortress - is becoming one of my favorite moments from World War I. I mean, despite how horrific it probably was (for both sides), it’s both awesome and incredible that some of the Russians were able to fight despite literally coughing up parts of their lungs.
yeah Sabaton makes sure not to slip up with stuff like that lol
(although they did mistakenly say Alvin York was in the 338th Regiment in the studio recording of "82nd All the Way," but it's corrected in every live performance, so...)
yooo, they pronounced the name of the place correctly That's a really good song I checked where is the Osowiec Fortress and I should read more about it and overall the eastern front of WWI There was a battle in my area and there are two cemeteries, but I don't remember when and why

I am currently writing another lore journal. This is another 4,000-word journal that will be canon with the IGEBM lore. It is a sequel to my first PMC lore journal, the one I made for 200 SOOBSCROIBERS!!
