One theory about quantum mechanics is that the universe has its way of balancing itself out.
i.e. Butterfly paradox. It would clear that ripple, or fix itself to add that ripple in time.
Punching or attempting to kill Hitler before he becomes Hitler may actually cause him to become Hitler.
By trying to get rid of him, you may make the situation worse, or automatically the same.

Saying "back in time" and "once" won't work since if you go back in time ONCE, you (the one in the past) will also go back in time and then the new old one will go back in time and so on. So you've worded it wrong in a way hehe.

If I could go back in time I would go to the Sentient Intelligent Ancient(about 3000 B.C in Egypt) so I could give them knowledge and technolgy from the future, so I don't have to wait 100 years for better staff to come.

If you went back in time and killed your grandpa before he met your grandma, then went back to your present time, you would still be alive, even though your parent or siblings would never have existed. You see, most people think of time as a straight line, but it's not. Time is a big ball of wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff. There are infinite realities in which something different has happened, whether it be how an insignificant bug dies or how Hitler dies. When you go back in time, then back to the present, you're in a different, time-altered reality, simply because in the first reality, you hadn't gone back in time. Therefore, if you killed your grandpa in the past and went to the present, it would be a reality in which you never existed. But since you were from a different reality, it wouldn't kill you, it would just kill you from that reality. In fact, this means if you went back in time, then back to the present, there would be TWO yous. So time machines are also infinite cloning machines.
