I need help with custom modelling
So I have noticed that the Custom Model Resource Pack Jam has gotten many people to join but only has 8 entries.
So I have decided to make an entry.
I know how to use blockbench perfectly fine, buuuuuuuuuut
I am not entirely sure how to upload it.
I can figure out making it the right kind of file or stuff like that, but I'm not sure how to 'assign' my texture to a block when I upload it.
So if anyone has any advice, it would be greatly appreciated!

I don't know a ton about Blockbench and Optifine entities whatsoever, but I'll give it a shot. I'm not entirely sure what you plan to re-model, so I'm just going to assume that it is a mob.
Once you have created the mob, export the texture as a .png file of whatever you want to call it (e.g. cow.png if you are changing a cow). Now, you should be able to export the actual model as a .json file so that Minecraft can recognize the new model. Open the file in notepad (or VSC if you have that) and make sure that the texture is the same as the .json's mob name.
If you want more help, I'll continue on.

When exporting the model out of BlockBench, make sure its texture has first been added to the texture pack.
Example: if you’re adding a new crafting bench, the texture would be in the folders [textures>block], while the model is in folders [models>block].
Naming the texture the same as the block is a good idea too.

Is there a tutorial somewhere you know of?
I'm a dunce so I'm not entirely sure how to carry that out-

Best one I could find. The example in the video is an item but the video talks about file locations still.

Just in case you need it, here's videos showing how to set up a texture pack.

These two videos are both from the same creator, Uncle Jam. His series about making texture packs is super good even though its a bit outdated. I've learned a lot about creating texture packs from this series of tutorials. The comments in the videos will let you know what is outdated and give solutions.
I hope this all helps. :)
P.s. This is also a pretty good video to learn from.

Good luck (bc I'm as confused as you are)
It is quite confusing-
