Hey gamers! Welcome back to The Gamer Archives! Where we post gaming news, tutorials, interviews, and more!

I have a question... Do you love Minecraft? Of course you do, everybody loves Minecraft, plus this is a Fan site for Minecraft XD. If you disagree, then 4.4 million people will come to your house and beat you up.

Anyways, 2024 is a big year for the legendary survival crafting game... because this year is their 15th anniversary, and a NEW UPDATE IS COMING OUT!!

On May 17th, Minecraft, the best-selling video game of all time, will be turning 15-years-old. It is a huge milestone, and Mojang is not going to let that slide without celebrating the occasion. On Wednesday, the studio revealed the first (as far as we know) part of this celebration: Minecraft is getting new paintings.

Created by artist Kristoffer Zetterstrand, Minecraft is getting fifteen new paintings to join the five already releasing in the 1.21 update (which I will get to later) coming this year. The content is not available to everyone yet, but you can test the new paintings and more in the latest Minecraft Preview on Minecraft.net.

Not only Minecraft is the best-selling game of all time, but it also counts as one of the most long-lived, thanks to the constant support Mojang has been giving it for 15 years. That impressive stream of updates is not ending anytime soon (thankfully), with another major update coming. Minecraft 1.21 Tricky Trials is going to be filled with new features, blocks, mobs, and more.

Like many past updates, Mojang is developing the 1.21 release alongside the community through early snapshots and previews, ahead of the still-unannounced full release. This means that there is more info available for the average video game update. Now, it is time to talk about everything we know about the Tricky Trials update, including when it will arrive and the features the update will have.

The release of the major Minecraft update was not confirmed a release date yet. But I have a theory: It will be released in Summer/mid-2024, if the development goes smoothly. Mojang Studios is keeping its cards close to its chest until we come closer to the Tricky Trials update.

However, Mojang pulled out multiple features that will arrive with the Tricky Trials update and released them with its own separate name: The Armored Paws update. This update adds three major features to the game, namely Armadillos, new Wolf variants, and Wolf Armor. The update was released on April 23, 2024, for all platforms.

Although it does make the 1.21 update smaller, I personally am a fan of Mojang dropping new features now than holding back for a future, larger release.

You’re probably wondering, “What the heck is Mojang adding exactly?” Well, I have a list (From what was currently announced) of what Mojang will be adding when the update is released.

Currently, there are two mobs coming to Minecraft. They are...

1. The Bogged – This is the latest new mob confirmed to be coming in the Minecraft 1.21 update. The bogged is a new type of skeleton, but it is covered in moss and spawns in the Trial Chambers. When it dies, it drops Arrows of Poison.

2. The Breeze – This is a mob that looks like the fiery blaze from the Nether but is designed around wind instead of fire. You can find Breezes in the new Trial Chambers. They drop breeze rods, an item where you can craft The Mace or be turned into Wind Charges.

Some of the new features that are coming out are...

3. Trial Chambers – This is the main feature of the 1.21 update. These are generated dungeons will appear underground throughout the Overworld, waiting to be discovered by skilled adventurers itching for a fresh challenge.

4. Trial Spawners – This is the feature that ties the Trial Chambers together. Of course, puzzles and traps are great, but Trial Spawners can be found where the puzzles and traps are heaviest and pit the players against lots of hostile mobs.

5. Trial Keys and Vaults – Another feature for the Trial Chambers, players can obtain Trial Keys after beating Trial Spawner challenges, which unlock Trial Vault chests for unique rewards.

6. Bad Omens – The weird effect that was introduced in the Village & Pillage update is getting an update, complete with a new logo design. It will also have an “Ominous Effect” on the player.

7. Crafter – Mojang is adding a feature where players have been requesting for years: automatic crafting.

8. Wind Chargers – This is a new single use, consumable item that can be obtained by defeating Breezes.

9. The Mace – Minecraft is adding legit Thor’s hammer to the game. It is a large and slow weapon specialized in battle groups of enemies. It is so powerful that you can one-shot the Warden with it and it deflects fall damage!

There are so many more features going to be added, and I am hyped about this update! Are you? Answer in the comments below.

And that’s the gaming news today, I hope you enjoy it! And remember: Keep on gaming!
