Shields are really
cool! Long ago, updating my Mo' Netherite pack I messed around with
custom shields, simply renaming a shield to a name to get a special texture.
Ever since I wanted to make this pack
that takes that idea and adds lots and lots of shields, but I delayed
that for other projects.
NOW ME AND FOOF (a cool texture artist!) HAVE TEAMED UP FOR THE ULTIMATE PACK!
Introudcing MO' SHIELDS!
The BEST pack ever to add custom shields!
We plan on adding almost every single block that seems to work as a shield material (for example ice or sand won't count)
But also add interesting takes of our own with custom designs.
In the resource pack file you will find a
txt file that contains more info on what shields you can make
currently, the next update will contain a LOT more shields, this is more
of a test!
Make sure to see the images of the resource pack to see some of the designs! (there's more designs than just the things in the images!)

Yours is the only texture pack I found that I actually got my custom textures to work with for some reason.
Since I'm adding more shields that can be crafted instead of just being a retexture it would be good to have the textures run over CustomModelData instead of the name so people can't just say renamae a netherite shield and poof it's a normal shield again.
I found that there is just an nbt path in the shield.properties file referring to "nbt.display.Name" but when I changed this path to "nbt.tag.CustomModelData" and tried using that to get the custom textures it didn't work. Am I doing smth wrong or is that even possible ?
