I probably won't finish this resource pack so I might as well release it as is.
At first, I wanted this resource pack to make tiling less visible while remaining close to the original textures: each new block texture has 255 variations which come from a 256px x 256px texture divided in 256 tiles.

Then I started to change things like water, lava, fire, various models, lighting, which defeat the original purpose of this resource pack, but oh well.
Some textures could be improved, but I'm not sure if I should put more effort into matching the default textures since most of them will change anyway.

That is a dang clever way to introduce tiling/variation. Did you test out different quantities to figure out that 255 was the best number to work with? Could you achieve the same kind of tiling variation at, say, 55?

I chose to make 255 variations since it's the area of a chunk (16 blocks wide, 16 blocks long), making that many variations might be unnecessary, but since I can generate as many as I want it's not an issue (128 x 128 blocks = 16384 textures, 8 x 8 blocks = 64 textures). 55 variations might be enough, it depends on how many blocks you can display in-game while being able to see the details of each one of them.
