Humanity always had trouble integrating with technology, and the photon watchers are no exception. These multi-purpose bastions were placed in various waypoints around New Metropolis, providing the city with power, protection, and useless touristic trivia. Sadly, the citizens weren't on board with the "always watching" sentries scattered everywhere, so in an act of revolution, they say that they stole them and left them either destroyed, hidden, or in the bottom of the ocean.

Strangely, none of the robots have been found; in one piece or not. Rumours say that they "woke up", and have been hiding ever since. Hiding, and watching.
