Messed around a lot with colors and shading. Turned out to actually look only very little like Mulan, but I still like it. Colors are very over-exaggerated and not perfect, but I wanted to do something different here.

This is a really nice skin. In my opinion, the shadings a bit all over the place, somewhat cluttered. Again this is just my opinion, if you like it like this, I'm not the one to complain! But, overall good job ^.^

Another great skin Mischjay. I just read the comments from you and KV. I felt the same way when you explained why you do messy shading. I do the same, mess around trying to find something that I can call my own. And also, I think the mouth can really change an expression. Did you try a smiling mouth? Anyway, great skin :D

I don't understand why you made the shading so messy on clothes, although seems to serve well on the bottom portion. à One major thing that I'm not sure you can fix or would want to fix is the eyes; for Asian eyes they just don't work. à They make her lookà caucasian, and I realize people tend to make girl skins with larger eyes, but I don't know about this one....Regardless, you did well on the colors and it's not bad I just had some criticism. à Any confusion just ask.

I know facial features are very hard and limited in skin making. Even a change in the eyes may not help.

Yes, the eyes definitely were my biggest problem while trying to make her face look as close as possible to the reference. I actually tried out a lot of different face and eye designs, but none of them really seemed to work. After a while I just thought, f*** it, I'll use the design that looks the most interesting. Actually, I think the 3 pixel wide and one tall would've worked a bit better, but I used these so much, their look just bored me. :P

As for the shading, you're right, it does look kinda messy. I'm not very good with coming up with good shading patterns that look good, realistic, and aren't based off of someone else's work too much. So I just kinda mess around, see what comes out. I also was kinda in a rush since I wanted to finish the skin and then go to bed fast. But really, I prefer this to using those static, unchanging patterns that can be applied to almost any skin. Someday I might actually find a pattern that looks insanely good ;)
