Her backstory:
Hattie was an orphan who was always in trouble. She traveled from town to town, dressed as a man, stealing silverware and jewelry when no one was looking, and sold it on the side. One day, she got caught by this mean old woman, who forced her to work in her brothel. Hattie didn't like that, so she would murder every one of her "clients" Eventually the townspeople found out who was behind all the disappearances, and they sentenced Hattie to hang in the town square, but just before her execution, she escaped! And hasn't been seen since.
