Hey guys! Before you read the story I just wanted to say that I'm really really happy that I get to post this skin today. I've been dealing with some stuff about my skinning abilities and spent a lot of time thinking about how I'm no better than everyone else, and those were some dark times. I didn't want to touch my computer, do anything I liked and just wanted to stay inside. But those clouds have passed, and I'm ecstatic to present you with my Desert Contest Skin! After not entering Childhood Heroes, I got sad because I really wanted to join a contest, and here it is!
Also, I have a lot of friends in the judging panel this contest, but don't be biased :D
Chad Von Almen knew he was different. It wasn’t that he was the mayor’s son, or smarter than everyone in his class, (which he was). It was something inside of him, and he just couldn’t figure out what it was. He kept telling Prickles, his dad, about this concern. He kept saying that it was just a phase, and nothing to worry about. Prickles, the mayor of Cactiville, was dearly beloved by the townspeople, so what he says, goes. Everyone assured Chad that he was fine, but something inside of Chad told him different.
Chad was in 5th grade when he found out. For the past week, Chad would come to school and see everyone growing his or her pins out. “Look at mine, Chad!” Said Suzie, who Chad didn’t particularly like. “That’s nice, Suzie,” said Chad with the utmost apathy. He was wondering why his pins weren’t coming in. He asked his father about this, and the proud mayor of Cactiville just said he was a late bloomer. Chad didn’t know what that was.
Every day of the week, kids kept getting their pins in. Soon, everyone in the class was prickly! Except chad, who’s skin was smooth and bare. At this point, Chad was frustrated. He didn’t know why his pins weren’t coming in! At recess, Chad stayed inside. He was too mad to go outside. Chad thought that maybe, just maybe, he thought he was different because of his pins not coming in. And he was right.
Chad was thinking, and all of a sudden, he felt his shirt stretch in the back. “What’s going on?” he wondered. Then, his shirt ripped! He was astonished! He flipped open his Apple flip phone and took a picture of his back. When he looked at it, a huge tube was there! Chad had no understanding of this and was very confused. Then, a sticky substance poured out the back. Chad, mystified, tasted it.
It was… ice cream! And it tasted delicious. Then, his skin started to get rough. He looked at it, and he realized his pins were coming in! But… they wee colored? All different colors, all on his body. He picked one off and tasted it, and it was a sprinkle! Chad loved sprinkles. They were sweet, and the perfect topping to go on top of ice cream. Wait! Ice cream! His back started pouring it, and now he has sprinkles to go on top! This was the best day of Chad’s life. Then, when Chad thought it couldn’t get any better, a great, plump cherry appeared on his head. Now, Chad knew what his purpose is. It’s to make ice cream for himself!
All the other kids came into the room from recess, and stared in amazement at Chad. “He’s… leaking!” said Mrs. Upsike, his teacher. “No, Mrs. Upsike, it’s ice cream!” She walked over and tasted it, and Chad was right! The ice cream was delicious. Mrs. Upsike was so delighted that she go bowls from the cafeteria, and all the kids ate ice cream from Chad the entire day.
Chad was so glad that he found out why he was different, and it being such a pleasant surprise! For the rest of his life, Chad was known as the Dessert Desert cactus, and he ate ice cream from himself everyday.
Welp, that's it! I hope you enjoyed my contest entry. Also, if you want me to get into the finals, don't forget to diamond the skin! It helps a lot. :)
