This is a map I made in the fall of 2017, and I have decided to post it here. It was created with the intent to invoke nostalgia among players who have fond memories of playing parkour in the early days of Minecraft, and it was designed to try to take players back to a time when they were less good at the game. The entire map is built with blocks that existed in Beta 1.7.3, before sprint was added, and the parkour in the map must be completed without the aid of sprinting.
Room 1 (Stone Room): A circular room with 2 levels, made of cobblestone, stone and glass. It features windows to some forested areas, some desert areas, and a quaint house. Though this is the easiest room in the map, it is still quite challenging, and it sets the pace for the rest of the map.
Room 2 (Purple Room): A tall cylindrical room made of clay, obsidian and purple wool, with a window opening up into a cave system with a mob spawner. This room ramps up the difficulty, and serves as a barrier to completion for many players.
Hub Room: A central room made with an ornate slab and wood pattern. You must parkour across this room multiple times over the rest of the map, and if you fall in this room, you need to restart from room 3. It connects directly to Room 3.
Room 3 (Lapis Room): An underwater-type structure made from iron and lapis blocks, and it has a window into the sea. It features parkour inside of floating water blocks. It leads to Room 4 through the hub room.
Room 4 (Iron Room): A cramped, frigid basement that leads into a frozen cave above. It features a window into a taiga. This room features timed parkour using pistons. It leads to Room 5 across the hub room.
Room 5 (Gold Room): A sandstone temple laced with gold that features a window into a gravel beach. It features many difficult and unique jumps across 5 distinct rooms, including the infamous no-sprint neo (which is a jump fully around a block _|_ like that!). It leads to Room 6 through the hub room.
Room 6 (Diamond Room): A two-levelled mansion style room with a window that opens up onto a fenced in farm. This is the hardest room in the map, and it thoroughly tests your no-sprint parkour abilites. After you've beaten this room, you've beaten the map!
No map download will be given, as I intend for the map to stay exclusively on the server.
Fun Facts:
-The parkour in the water room had to be entirely overhauled in 1.13, as 1.13 changed where you float in the water and this broke the parkour that existed originally.
-Retrograde was the first map created in Theta, Minr's creative world.
-There are 2 secrets within the map. One alludes to a vigilante crime fighter, and somebody told me the other one was cool too. See if you can find them!
