Gran Dinado is a 2,000 x 2,000 mesa/decidious biome landscape. It didn't take that long to make but it could be used for a variety of things.

Well, if you want to make beautiful maps then look at getting world machine. This really helped me to get the basics of world machine and branch off from there. It allows you to create these spectacular landscapes. Also make sure you have world painter and some custom brushes. It's always good to do some test maps, it's much easier to learn through experience.

Aye, I've used world machine in the past but I can't get the terrain to the exact detail that I want usually. That's why I'm currently making my large map of around 16000 by 16000 using worldpainter. For me, that program is a lot more "handy". Yet with that big of a landscape to deal with, is a lot of work at once...

I don't use world machine for precise landscapes, I just import an image into world painter.
