Description
Church of St. Philip is a large gothic church located in the St. Philip square (named after the church, of course). It was built in 1873 under the foresight of Henry, 15th Earl of Heptonstall. This French Gothic church serve as the main catholic church of Heptonstall, replacing the original medieval church that was on its site, also named St. Philip. The church is dedicated to Saint Philip, the first Earl of Heptonstall, and the first owner of Hebden Castle.
