La cathédrale Notre-Dame de Strasbourg est une cathédrale gothique située à Strasbourg, dans la circonscription administrative du Bas-Rhin, sur le territoire de la collectivité européenne d’Alsace. Fondée en 1015 sur les vestiges d’une précédente cathédrale, elle est élevée à partir de 1220 par la ville libre de Strasbourg, riche république marchande et financière, dans le style gothique 3, et est pratiquement achevée en 1365. Elle a la particularité d’avoir vu l’espace entre ses deux tours comblé en 1388 et se reconnaît à son clocher unique, surmonté d’une flèche qui lui a été ajoutée en 1439. Entre 1647 et 1874, pendant plus de deux siècles, elle fut le plus haut édifice du monde avec ses cent quarante-deux mètres de hauteur. Elle demeure la deuxième cathédrale la plus élevée de France après Rouen et la cinquième du monde.

Notre-Dame de Strasbourg Cathedral is a Gothic cathedral located in Strasbourg, in the administrative district of Bas-Rhin, on the territory of the European community of Alsace. Founded in 1015 on the remains of a previous cathedral, it was built from 1220 by the free city of Strasbourg, a rich merchant and financial republic, in the Gothic style 3, and was practically completed in 1365. It has the particularity of being 'have seen the space between its two towers filled in in 1388 and can be recognized by its unique bell tower, surmounted by a spire which was added to it in 1439. Between 1647 and 1874, for more than two centuries, it was the highest edifice of the world with its one hundred and forty-two meters in height. It remains the second highest cathedral in France after Rouen and the fifth in the world.
