Description
Built around 1180 AD, the Borgund Stave Church (Borgund stavkyrkje) is amongst the most well-known and well-preserved architectures in the world. With a unique style unheard-of elsewhere in the world, the Vikings' art contains the finest carved portals and dragon-headed roof. Needless to say, this had caught many attentions including mine.
The recreation of this church had been done before in Minecraft, but I wanted to do my own version, with some new and improved techniques that was not possible in the past. I chose to build this in custom valley, fully decorated with graveyard, trees and flowers. The main palette was a very plain dark oak, but I was able to make it look more interesting with the use of fences and spruce accents.
