Biome Changes & Biome Colours • 1.8 & higher Tutorial for WorldEdit/VoxelSniper

There is a vast variety of biomes in Minecraft and with the previous biome update there are also new colours available. With this tutorial I want to give you a quick overview over the different biome colours, behaviours and how you can easily change them ingame with the help of WorldEdit and VoxelSniper (a little bit of knowledge is required since I will only go over the specific biome-related commands).

Note that these are NOT all biomes available ingame but my selection of biomes I work with while building.

Plus: Watercolours

Attention:
- "sky" (the end biome) changes the sky to a darker, grey colour
-
previously "swampland" was one colour, with the recent biome change there are now random brown spots which can't be controlled
- spruce and birch leaves seem not to be affected by the changes, all other leaves and some plants do

Tutorial for Biome Change with VoxelSniper (works with Minecraft 1.8.x)
  • /b biome name (Replace the name with the actual biome name, where the spaces are ceplaced with "_" e.g. Cold Taiga is cold_taiga.)
  • /b size (Replace size with a number, be careful with big numbers.)
  • Click with the arrow tool to change.
  • Pro: VoxelSniper supports the new biomes e.g. savanna and mesa / it changes the biome directly.
  • Con: The brush works in a round shape.
Tutorial for Biome Change with WorldEdit (works with Minecraft 1.8.x)
  • Select area.
  • //setbiome name (Replace the name with the actual biome name, where the spaces are ceplaced with "_" e.g. Cold Taiga is cold_taiga. Type /biomelist to see the biomes WorldEdit supports.)
  • Pro: Changes the biome of the selection, which means it supports rectangles and polyangular selections.
  • Con: WorldEdit currently doesn't support the new biomes / you often have to relog to see the change.

Thank you so much! This helps me out quite a bit! Though cold taiga no longer works for me.

If you're talking about WorldEdit, you can do savanna biomes
