This build is part of a redstone contest : #mshailzRedstoneBuildContest
Since the last time i've come up with a new design for the adder unit. I though it was quick enough (and compact enough) to make multiplications and divisions with it. I later choose to develop a way to compute square roots and factorials.
Here is a little guide on how to use the calculator:
Enter the numbers and the operation you want to perform with the lecterns.
If the operation use a sequential module*, press the start button.
Wait a bit for the result to be displayed.
When the result is ok, the loading screen stop and the "=" display light.
You can choose wether you want to do all sequential operations at once with the corresponding option. (only the result of the one selected is shown)
Caution : the previous result of a sequential operation IS NOT CLEARED when you change the inputs. If the inputs are changed, you need to press the start button again.
All results can be cleared using a button or overwritten by an other operation.
Time needed for computations:
- few seconds for additions and substractions
- less than a minute for multiplications [~40sec]
- multiple minutes for divisions and square roots [yet here the result is computed and displayed digit by digit]
*multiplication , division , square roots and factorials are sequential
I hope you enjoy this calculator, if you want a better understanding on how it works, please check the post here.
It tooks me dozens of hours to prototype, build and test so please give a diamond if you like it.
Ps : the prototypes used in the calculator are scattered around the map. feel free to visit them as they are not wired (easier to understand ... maybe)
