Hey There Everyone!
Allow me to introduce you to the wonderful world of the rainbow. The colors of the rainbow fill the world around us, all thanks to white light. Well the world of Minecraft has the special power to absorb the primary colors and crystallize them into ores.The Raibow Gems Mod adds three ores to the Overworld, and two to the Nether. They spawn at the lower levels usually.
Blood Ore is the first to be spotted around y=30 and yields Red Gems
Blue Crystal Ore is a bit lower but can be located by the distinctive glow it gives off. It yields Rough Blue Stone which must be smelted.
Yellow Jewel Ore seems to be the most elusive, residing at the level of diamonds. It yields a single Yellow Jewel.
Deep in the Nether the Illuminated Ore and the Darkness Ore hide...
Search high and low for these ores because their gems are essential in your quest for the Rainbow Gem.
Red Gems can be used to make all the tools in the same manner as any other material. These tools can be upgraded by adding Orange Gems to each in a triangular pattern. The final tier is the Rainbow tools but those require the rare Rainbow Gems.
How do you get Orange Gems you may ask?
Simple, naturally, the Yellow Jewel is far to hard to simply crush with an iron Gem Crusher. It requires a Diamond Hammer! Crafted with three sticks and two diamonds on the top and middle right, this tool can smash Yellow Jewels into little bits! Craft 8 of these with a Red Gem and get a Red Yellow Conglomerate! Smelt it and Bam! Orange Gem!
I will not fully divulge the secrets of the Rainbow Gem however. Here's a hint though, you will need one of each dust color, (Remember the rainbow!) and a tool called the Amalgamation Matrix, an ancient device left behind by an earlier people. We have no knowledge to craft such a device, you must locate it somewhere!
Each of the gems (except the Yellow Jewel, but Jewel Bits can!) can be crushed with a Gem Crusher, which is made of three Iron Spikes and three Iron Ingots. Iron Spikes can be crafted by placing three Iron Ingots in a triangle pattern at the top of the crafting table. You will need 4 of any gem or 10 Jewel Bits to get 2 dust of that color.
Red Gem Dust- No outside use other than for mixing with other colors
Blue Crystal Dust- Same as Red Gem Dust
Yellow Jewel Dust- Ditto
Now it gets interesting...
Purple Dust- A mix of Red Gem and Blue Crystal Dust- Has a hardening property when 4 dust is mixed with 5 Sand and then smelted and it can also be used in icing!
Green Dust- A Mix of Blue Crystal and Yellow Jewel Dust- Has life-giving properties. Add to both sides of Cobblestone to get Mossy Cobblestone, add 4 around Dirt to get some Wheat and add two on top of Sand to get some Cactus. It can also make a Piston a Sticky Piston.
Orange Dust- Created by crushing Orange Gems- Has combustive properties. Can be used as a more efficient fuel than coal in furnaces.
Nether Gems and Dusts
These Gems are quite larger than their Overworld counterparts so crushing just one Illuminated Gem or Darkness Gem gets you two dusts.
Illuminated Dust- It glows bright as day! Add it to a stick like a regular torch, but get 8 Illuminated Torches instead. With double the torches and double the brightness, you can mine deeper and longer!
Darkness Dust- Keep away from small children! This dust is highly explosive and very dangerous. It is not recommended that this dust is added to TNT, the result has been known to cause craters...
Finally, we have all our dusts to create the Rainbow Gem, but we're still missing that Amalgamation Matrix! The ancients didn't just leave behind the tool, some of their ruins remain hidden in the desert... Search these out and find a way inside, they may hold untold riches, or untold dangers...
If somehow you manage to find the Amalgamation Matrix and surround it with the dusts in the order of the rainbow, you may be able to create Rainbow Gems. Craft those awesome top tier tools and live like a King! Or Queen! The Rainbow Gems are not picky at all!
