Arianwyn is in her room, questionning herself about the bird.

"Whatever was it ?"

Suddenly, the Bird approaches her. Attracted by an irresistible force, Arianwyn caresses the bird's head. A flow of memories come back to her, and she grabs her head with both hands, while whimpering in pain.

Memories of suffering, hurting. Being mistreated, slashed, cut. Her mental and physical pain overflowing. She feels almost like she's being tortured by some invisible persons that hit and slash her whole body. Tears stream down her eyes as she tries to organize her thoughts in a logical way. The only thing that comes to her mind is "The pain... the suffering... I can't bear it !"


The memories stop coming back. She's lying on her bed, exhausted. A low growl is heard. Arian looks on the ground: a turtle, made out of shadows, is standing before her. It's shell and huge, ugly mouth is dripping blood, and it's got no eyes. The girl is petrified by the vision.

Soon, she thinks of a word to explain what she sees, what that creature is.

Pain.
