Jerry, unlike other creepers, cannot explode (This is his birth defect).

Since childhood, he was attracted to redstone, he saw in it something more than just ore. Jerry's parents did not approve of their son's hobby, and tried in every possible way to remove redstone from Jerry's life.
Then he decided to leave his parents and Creeper Canyon and start living his life. He just wandered around the Overworld until he came across a city called Redstonia.

The locals initially reacted extremely negatively to the guest, but when they saw that Jerry was showing a strange interest in the redstone components and did not seem to attack, they left him alone.
Some of them were watching him, trying to figure out what he was building.
Initially, the mechanisms created by Jerry did not really work, or were useless. Then some residents began to help Jerry: Explained how the mechanisms work, taught Jerry sign language to communicate with him.

Jerry became famous throughout Redstonia, he became one of the best redstone engineers in the city.
