  With the new year, I've been seeing a good amount of gardening supplies coming to stores. Be sure to check stores for supplies you'll want for this years' garden! I like to shop early when nothing is picked over :)

  Winter can be a dull season for those of us who prefer the spring flowers and all of the animals being out. That said, there are plenty of things that cottagecore enthusiasts can enjoy in the winter!
  
  For instance:
  

  • A warm cup of tea (chamomile is my fav :P)
  • Dried/ pressed flowers
  • Baking!!
  • Reading/ journaling

  There are a number of other things, but these are just a few cottagecore things that can be enjoyed year round to make your winters just a bit less dull :D

  Most people in this group know about what the cottagecore aesthetic is, but there are some lesser-known sub-aesthetics that I'll share below:
  
  *+Fairy Cottagecore+*
  
  While having an appreciation for the main aspects of typical cottagecore such as a love of nature and simplicity, fairy cottagecore also emphasizes fairies hence the name. There's a bit more of the magical aspect of fairies, and many who lean towards this sub-aesthetic will be found dressed with butterfly wing patterns or even attachable fairy wings
  
  
  
  *+Light Cottagecore+*
  
  Light cottagecore has a focus mainly on clothing and decoration. Those who prefer this sub-aesthetic of cottagecore will often dress and decorate in lighter, "happier" colors. It also focuses on the more peaceful and happy aspects of nature such as ladybugs, flowers, and sunshine
  
  
  
  *+Dark Cottagecore+*
  
  Essentially the opposite of light cottagecore, dark cottagecore focuses on having darker tones in decoration and clothing. Best described as "if goth and cottagecore had a baby." It also tends to focus on the metaphorically dark aspects of nature such as death of animals, poisonous plants, and other forest dangers
  
  
  
  *+Vintage Cottagecore+*
  
  Focusing largely on the simplicity aspect of cottagecore, vintage cottagecore is a step back from modern life, using technology from older times, decorating with antiques, and overall adopting a more vintage lifestyle. There isn't a specific time period from which vintage cottagecore style comes from, it's just inclined towards anything older
  
  
  
  There are other sub-aesthetics under cottagecore, but these are some of the more common ones. This guide might help you know what you want to look up since "cottagecore" may not be specific enough for your tastes

  This group recently hit the 12 subscriber goal!! To celebrate, I would like to host a jam
  
  If anyone would like to host it with me, please ask either in my pms or guest book and I'll consider! As long as you're a group member, you'll be considered, but I probably won't want more than one or two others working on the jam since that may be too much for a small jam

  If you want a cute cottagecore decoration for a low price, I definitely recommend pressing flowers! You can grow your own or just press ones you find in the wild (make sure to get permission if they're grown on private property)
  
  I'm growing my own flowers right now, but until they bloom, I've been collecting wildflowers from my backyard. These are mostly violets, but there are a couple other flowers in there as well
  
  
  
  I bought this jar for $2.50, so I'd say this is definitely an affordable decoration
  
  Also, if you want, you can use tape to make stickers with them to decorate journals or whatever else you might put a sticker on :)

  After being away from PMC so much, I've really let both of my groups die. I'm almost on summer break and I was wondering if maybe you guys would like for me to host the jam sooner than planned. I think that might revive this group and get some more people joining it :)
