The Songsmith origin lets you experience a new way of fighting as a mage, preferring to charge a combo of magical notes with high range over melee/bow & arrow combat.
Positives ✅
- Healing Music: Using a note block heals you by 1/8 of a heart.
- Off-Tempo: Dealing less than 3 damage with a hit will instantly grant an Adagio note (see later).
- Artist's Outlook: You see in the dark better than most people.
- Beatus de Arte: You only use up hunger if you're in Singing Mode. (see later)
- Tempo: Depending on the last note you received, you have a different buff on you. (Allegro - Speed II, Adagio - Slowness II & Resistance II, Andante - Speed I & Immunity to Slowness, Forte - 100% Knockback Resistance)
Neutrals ⚙️
- Tuned In: A music track is played for you all the time after 2 minutes.
Skills 🎶
- Stellar Performer (Hold *Primary Ability* down): While this skill is active, tap movement keys to gain a Note - either Adagio (Back), Allegro (Forward), Andante (Left) or Forte (Right). Each of these notes has its own unique effect and deals slightly varying damage. Release it to enter Singing Mode, freezing yourself till you fire all notes. To fire a note, tap its respective movement key.
- Adagio: Fires a slow note that deals 2 damage and slows the enemy.
- Forte: Fires a slow note that deals 2 damage and extra knockback.
- Allegro: Fires a quick note that deals 0.75 damage.
- Andante: Fires an average-speed note that deals 1 damage and clears Speed on the enemy.
- Death Cadence (Secondary): With exactly 5 of each note, fire a ray that deals 20 damage and expend all notes.
Cons ❌
- Broken Guard: You take 1.5x damage in Singing Mode.
- Rival Wizards: Evokers and illusioners take less damage from your notes.
- Pacifism: Only notes can be your weapons; the rest doesn't deal damage.
- Call of the Void: You will rarely hear creepers hissing behind you.
- Powerful Voice: Firing notes in Singing Mode exhausts you.
