Pokeball Datapack v1.0.3
This datapack has been discontinued, it is no longer updated and supported.

The Pokeball Datapack introduces the Pokeball to Minecraft. With it, you can easily catch entities and free them at other places.

Usage:
Click to reveal
First you have to craft the pokeball like in the picture above.
To catch a creature, drop the pokeball on it. After a short time the creature will be caught with a certain probability, or the pokeball can also be destroyed.
To release a creature again, right click with the pokeball at this position. You will get the pokeball back.

Features:
Click to reveal
- Balanced
- Efficient
- Good compatibility with other datapacks
- Also works on Paperspigot

Limitations:
Click to reveal
The following entities cannot be caught:
- Wither
- Ender Dragon
- Elder Guardian
- Evoker
- Ravager
- Iron Golem

For the chance with which an entity is captured, the following applies:
- All passive entities: 80%.
- All neutral entities: 70%
- All monsters (without the exceptions): 60%.

Compatibility:
Click to reveal
- 1.16+
- Singleplayer
- Multiplayer
- Vanilla
- Paperspigot

For all other versions the datapack was not designed, so errors may occur.

- Move the datapack file to a datapack folder in a world of your choice.
- Reload the world.

- Download the resurcepack file.
- Move the resurcepack file into the resurcepack folder of Minecraft.
- Activate the resurcepack.

Uninstall:

Just wanted to pop in and say this data pack reminds me a lot of the Pokeball mod I used back while 1.2.5 was around. Installed it with MCPatcher. Good times.

The datapack should work without modifications for the 1.17 snapshots since no new entities were added, but I haven't tested it yet.
For further snapshots I will generally not release separate versions, because the commands can change a lot from snapshot to snapshot. However, I will release a new version in time for the final realese of 1.17.

Why should pets be immune to Pokeballs?
Cats, dogs and others can also be caught and so far no one has complained.

I already use custom model data in the resurcepack to some parts. However, I have now improved the texture pack so that normal spawn eggs are no longer displayed as pokeballs.
