Fire off confetti fireworks with this data pack as seen during the PMC 10 Year Anniversary!
For server admins
Use these commands to give or clear firework kits. (Consisting of 16 fireworks and a crossbow with enough durability to fire the fireworks.)
/execute as <player> at @s run function bertiecrafter:confcan/kit/give
/function bertiecrafter:confcan/kit/give_nearest
/function bertiecrafter:confcan/kit/give_all
/execute as <player> at @s run function bertiecrafter:confcan/kit/clear
/function bertiecrafter:confcan/kit/clear_nearest
/function bertiecrafter:confcan/kit/clear_all
A note about persistence of kits
The data pack keeps track internally about whether it is "enabled" or not. Giving the kit to anyone "enables" the internal state, but only clear_all "disables" the internal state. If not "enabled", kits will be cleared from all joining players.
Regardless, crossbows and fireworks given using those commands will be removed when dropped.
General Usage & Survival
Place the fireworks in your offhand and hold a cross bow with the other. This causes the crossbow to be loaded with the fireworks, ready for blast off!
Use this command to make the fireworks obtainable:
/scoreboard players set #obtainable bcconfcan 1
Replace the 1 with a 0 to disable this. When enabled, gunpowder, red dye, yellow dye and blue dye (one of each) can be thrown together to create 3 firework rockets. Place them down or fire them with a crossbow you made yourself.IMPORTANT: Special instructions on how to install this data pack
The zip you download consists of 2 data packs, one of them just being a helper data pack that centralizes on join checks. Simply unzip the download and move the 2 zips inside to your datapacks folder.
I encountered a bug! What do I do now?
I test all my creations, but bugs happen no matter how long you test something. Whenever someone experiences a bug, I do my best to fix the issue. You can help me by providing any useful information. You can never give me enough information, but please send it in a DM instead of placing it in the comments. You can still place a one-liner in the comments stating the issue to make the community aware, but that alone isn't enough to help me fix the issue.
- Checklist: Are you using the right version? Did you do /reload after dropping the datapack in? After /reload, does the datapack show up green in /datapack list?
- What is the issue? Does the datapack not seem to be working at all or is there a specific feature you are having issues with?
- What happened? Please give me all the steps needed to reproduce the issue. The faster I can experience it, the faster I can solve it.
- What did you expect to happen instead? This helps me understand your point of view and determine if the issue described is actually the issue I need to fix. The bug you are experiencing could just be a side effect of something else that doesn't behave as expected.
