This datapack add a challenge: Hostile mobs are invisible are invisible from 12 blocks.

Use your ears, they make a sound when they become visible.

This is my contribution to the event : 'Minecraft, but ???'

You need the datapack ' Minecraft, But ??? (Framework) ' to use this scenario

Good luck and stay alert ;)

Hey, you normally use the datapack named "Minecraft But Framework" and the command :/function bertiecrafter:mcb/runnerBut i make a version "stand alone" for you. You can DL it on my dropbox :

Hey, I just tried your data pack and here's my feedback:
    keyboard_arrow_downStale
    • Please just zip the data and pack.mcmeta files. That way users can just drop it in their datapacks folder without unzipping.
    • There is a small bug on line 9 of the tick function. You use "distance=..12" but never specify the current position. Fix this by adding "at @s" after the "as @e[....]"
    • Please shorten the invisibility duration to 1 second, that way players aren't stuck with invisible mobs if they abruptly uninstall your data pack or the stop function runs when invisible mobs walked off and got unloaded. You can then remove the check that verifies a mob isn't invisible, so that you re-apply the effect every tick.
    • Optional: You're free to write spaces within the quotes in register.mcfunction. (Title/Desc). You can also leave the description field empty if you can't think of anything.
    • Optional: You could optimize some functions. On line 6 and 7 you can remove the "run execute" after "at @a". Also you could combine all commands after "run" on line 6, 7 and 11 into one function. That way you only need to do "execute at @a run execute at @e[type=#venator:mcb/mixtemob,predicate=venator:mcb/invisi,distance=..12] run" once.
Let me know when you made changes and what you changed! =)

I upgrad my datapack to follow your advices :
    1) i fixed the .zip
    2) i fixed by adding "at @s"
    3) for this point, i reduce the invisibility duration to 90 seconds, it's a compromise. I don't want to use a command who giving effect to every mobs every single tick. So only visible mobs become invisible every 90 sec. If someone did'nt use the normal way to stop the datapack, some mobs could remain invisible until a maximum of 90sec. Otherwise , the invisibilty effect is correctly remove. ( by the functions "uninstall" and "stop" ) Another small disadvantage : mobs will be visible 1 tick every 90sec. ( like i said, it's a compromise)
    4) i used write spaces now

When I started minecraft in 2011 (beta), it was on an old computer and my display distance was 2 chunks. I was in a constant fog and mobs could come out at any time to attack me. It was scary, but great, so that's my inspiration for this datapack :)
