Hey there! I have noticed a lot of skins with metal shading where they shade it like everything else. This is not wrong, it just looks bad. This tutorial will explain how to fix it and make everything look better and possibly get more views!
Let's start with a simple helmet example:
Now which one of these helmets would you click on? Probably the one on the left. Because it uses a HUE change, instead of just black, it gives it more realism because gold shadows with sort of an orange color. For the highlights i just used plain white and it looks fine. Note that i am using white with a low opacity pencil.
Now look at these silver swords. The left one I made with a dark gray and on the right I just used black. So, the right looks fine except it gets really dark the more you click. and the left one is very even.
So that is my very short tutorial on how to shade metal so it looks better, and more realistic.
I hope this helped!
