(Strawman)*
“Wait, what?” Martin replies.
“Is everything alright, honey?” Sandra speaks while coming over to check out the situation.
“Greetings, you must be miss Sandra Bel, correct?” Theo said. “We have suspected that your husband, Mr. Martin Bel to be the one who stole the Amethyst Spider.”
“H- How could that be?” Martin said in disbelieve.
“We have security camera footage as the evidence.” Theo said. “Please come with me to police station. I suggest you should comply with my request to avoid any further complication.”
“My husband did not steal anything!” Sandra shout, visibly angry at Theo.
“I understand miss, but as a security measure I can’t let this slide.” Theo replies.
“Well, I guess I don’t have any other choice.” said Martin, while Theo is escorting him to his car.
“I have to go with my husband.” Sandra speaks to Theo.
“Sure. Take a seat, I can’t waste any more time so please be quick.” Theo replies.
(Nostalgia)*
In one of the rooms inside an apartment, Shirley sat at her table, reading through a newspaper of yesterday, looking at random news article to waste her time after coming back home. Suddenly her phone ring.
“Hello Shirley, what do you think about my performance?” Mallory said. “My skills get a bit rusty over the years, probably there’re some mistakes here and there…”
“You really did it, huh?” Shirley sigh. “Well I guess no one can stop you when you already have locked eyes on your goal.”
“You know me too well. So, do you want to come to me tomorrow?”
“I- I’m not quite sure, Mal. I have other things to do you know? I don’t want to go back to that again.”
“Aww, c’mon, we’re going to be fine.”
“I still think that that’s a bad idea. Don’t you remember the accident that caused us to stop what we used to do back in the days?”
“I promise something like that will never happen again. I’m sure that you still missed the old days too.”
Shirley stay silent, thinking to herself.
“So, are you coming or not, Midnight Princess?”
“Well… of course, Illusion Queen.” Shirley replies, her mind still thinking about the accident.
(Redemption)*
In an interrogation room at the police station. Martin is being interrogated by Theo.
“I still deny that I’m the one who stole that Amethyst Spider.” Martin said.
“We have all the evidence that all pointed that you’re the one who took it” Theo shows Martin pictures taken from security tapes depicting Martin hand grabbing the Amethyst Spider. “If you confess now, I might be able to convince the judge to lower your jail sentence by a year or two.”
“B- But I didn’t do it… I- I will prove my innocence!” Martin said, panicked as he knows that if he cannot prove his innocence, he will serve his sentence in jail.
Theo looked at Martin before handling him a folder that contain all the pictures.
Martin start inspecting every picture closely.
“A-ha! Found it!” Martin said, relieved. “Here- look at the hand in this picture closely.” Martin gave the picture back to Theo.
Upon inspection, Theo noticed what seems to be a burnt scar on the suspect hand which Martin does not have.
