IGEBM and Si walk through a Nether portal in PMC City, arriving in the Nether. "Ready for a fun day in the fiery Nether?" IGE asks his friend, full of enthusiasm. "Yup." Si says. "I wonder how much ComfySteve has changed since he became king." (After the Nether War, Noncommercial was thrown in prison and his first lieutenant ComfySteve became the king, since he was the only one from the Nether who sided with the Overworld.) The two walk across a Nether brick bridge and explore the dimension.

First on their list of stops is one of the Nether fortresses. When they arrive there, the two of them show the piglin security guards their passes. The guards look over them and let them into the fortress. "Let's check out the Nether wart garden!" Si suggests. "Good idea." The two make their way up to the Nether wart garden, where they join several other tourists in looking at the Nether warts growing on soul sand. "Maybe I'll get some wart from the gift shop for brewing." IGE says.

Then, IGEBM and Si head up to the top of the fortress, where they go visit a blaze spawner. "I've always wondered how spawners work." Si says. "Oh, basically, what happens is that you harvest the essence of a mob from its corpse and then put it in this magic cage." IGE explains as they look at the blazes spawning in the fenced-off area. "Then, that magic cage harnesses the essence and uses it to create more of said mob. However, this can only work when the area around the cage is a certain light level." "Cool." Si says. "We should do some brewing tonight, when we get home. You said you were gonna buy some Nether warts, so I might buy a pack of blaze rods that we can ground up into powder." "That should be fun." IGE says. They spend about an hour at the fortress before leaving to go to their next destination, the bastion.

This is the first in a series of short stories I'll be doing about a day trip me and Si are taking to the Nether (in my lore). In terms of continuity, this takes place 1 week after PMC: War on the Nether (which took place at the end of April 2023) and a few weeks before PMC: Apocalypse (which is currently planned to take place in mid or late May 2023). I'll probably just update this blog with the other chapters and change the format up a bit, but I'm not gonna write another part for a few weeks (probably), since I have other projects.
