Now, I'm sure alot of people are waiting patiently to update to 1.6. But, some say that this is the beginning of the end of Minecraft. So what's the problem?

Well, some people say that Mojang needs to slow down with development, and instead of taking the big step of adding brand new mobs, they should focus more on improving the game already as it is, like fixing bugs, working on improving current items/blocks/mobs. Which is understandable, because moving forward is good, but moving forward too fast can cause some like Mojang to trip and fall right on their faces.

There is, however, alot of optimism about the new update, players setting up stables for their new horses, or deciding what carpet would look nice in their house. In fact, I'm doing the same. The defense for these players is that a new mob or two couldn't hurt anyone or anything, and besides, the game hasn't had any interesting mobs added (in my opinion) since 1.4.2 when the Wither was finally finished. Not only that, the game will introduce more 'lifelike' features such as getting rid of water holes in desert biomes. Not only that, but you can also use spawn eggs in water. All in all, the game could use a couple of extra touches.

Right?

Now it's up to you, the players. Write down in the comment section what you think about the new updates. It doesn't matter whether or not it's a good or bad opinion about the update. I hope through this everyone will get a better idea about what their fellow players think about the new updates, and whether or not we should step in and stop Mojang before they go too far.

Well, I really love the way minecraft is evolving, but there's always this part of me (A huge part, actually) that really wants the plain old 1.7 version back. That's when I started playing. >w< It was so fun and simple, and I always got this feeling when I built something. Like, it was a perfect little sandbox game. Now, whenever I play.. It's like a collection of mods all put together. Which is so true, because they've taken tons of stuff from mods. I feel that if they continue developing the game like this, they should give us the option to go back and play 1.6 or 1.7 or back further. The way they're developing it now, it feels like it should be part of the technicpack launcher, not vanilla minecraft.

Actually, they are making it so you can go back further before the 1.6 update. It's only to 1.5.2 right now, but I heard they'll make it so you can play all the way back at like, 1.7

I think Mojang should slow down, maybe take a few weeks longer than usual to improve the current pre-release and fix more bugs and glitches. And also try and make Minecraft alot less laggier for those of us with not-so-good computers.Like writing an Essay; you first have the basic idea then the writing(or programming) of your idea and finally improving on what you have done.

Exactly! The horses and the new blocks and items are a bit too much for me to take on at once.. @_@
