Greetings and salutations! Welcome to the 18th interview of Gru's News! I'm your host, ZappyGru, interviewing none other than the leader of the PBDA, WaffleBear! If you're new here, hi! The rules of my interviews are simple; I ask 10-15 questions about who they are, and what they do, and they will answer it. Now with that out of the way, let's move onto the questions!
And there you have it! Your favorite bear with a detective outfit has now been interviewed! What do you think? Interested to see more? Check out the Gru's News Collection for more content like this! Thank you for watching, and have a good day/night everyone!

Zappy's Questions n' Answer |
---|
Before we begin, tell the audience a few things about you. WaffleBear: Alright. I'm Wafflebear and I do stuff sometimes but sometimes I don't. I was born at a very young age. I enjoy reading and botany and not leaving the house. ZappyGru: Nice to meet you, WaffleBear! Welcome to the show! |
For our first question, what were your origins for your username? WaffleBear: Well, my first username on this site was simply the word "username" followed by a series of four digits I can't remember now. Later, in my first month on the site I joined a group of PMCers called "The Waffle Kingdom." If you weren't on the site a year or so ago, then do a little searching on the forums and you'll find what I'm talking about. Those were good times. After I joined, I changed my name to WaffleBear simply because I was in the waffle kingdom, and I like bears. My username has gone through some changes, for example at one point it was changed to "WaffleBear-san" because a wall post of mine got 50 likes. It's now back to good old Wafflebear now, though. ZappyGru: That's very interesting! I think the reason for the name "username" with the series of numbers and letters was because you signed in with a Google account and didn't add a username, so the site automatically went for the default name. |
You seem to have quite a few submissions, what is the general style that you go for? WaffleBear: Well I really like the whole detective, Sherlock Holmes vibe. That's where I got the whole Detective Pooh-bear character. |
How did you and chickenpants93 become such good friends? You seem to have a lot of things in common with each other. WaffleBear: Well for one thing, he was part of that Waffle Kingdom I mentioned earlier. When the Waffle Kingdom had a minecraft server both of us joined that and we interacted a lot. That one died, another sprung up and we were both on that one too. The same thing happened two more times and we've been on all of those servers together. Some other great people I've met through those servers are MOLTENONI, -Rae- deactivated, anonpmc2713049, rainyafternoon, and really so many more I can't list here. ZappyGru: That's great to hear! Going onto groups like the one you were on helps find new friends. |
Going back to one of your answers, you said that your style is generally a detective theme. One submission that chickenpants93 created was the PBDA (Pooh Bear Detective Agency), a story about 4 detectives solving crimes. What inspired you 4 to make this? WaffleBear: Oh man, oh man is this a fun story. So those servers I mentioned, right? The second one, came out a couple months after the first one shut down. Great server. So basically chickenpants did this thing, this kind of game. We had no clue that it was him setting it up, though. He would go around building things, leaving books and signs that would slowly create a story arc. It was kind of an ARG (alternate reality game.) I think it was me who stumbled upon the first build under a bridge. There was a sewer grate that led down into what looked like an abandoned laboratory with a failed portal. So, I forget which one of us had the idea to start a detective agency to farther investigate (think it was rainyafternoon) but we did it. Over the course of two or so months, it told the story of a scientist (we referred to him simply as "The Traveler") who, in another reality worked on interdimensional portals and through a freak accident crossed over to the reality of the server, and something sinister came with him. I don't want to tell more of the story, because I don't want to spoil his comic (you're welcome for the free clout, chickenpants.) But man, was that fun. Near the end chickenpants revealed it was him making this game for us. Pretty cool. Most fun I've ever had in a video game, honestly. The server's long gone now, but I don't think I'll forget that. You should go check out the comic if you haven't already. ZappyGru: Wow, so much effort was being put into this! I loved this comic from the moment I saw it, and I've always waited for the next sequel! |
What sort of hobbies do you have outside of PMC? WaffleBear: Outside of PMC I enjoy reading, hiking and botany. Botany I especially love learning about. I like to identify plants that I find in the wild. |
What do you see yourself doing in the future of PMC? WaffleBear: Throwing off the limitations of a three-dimensional existence and becoming one with the boundless universe. Also minecraft skins. |
Back in 2020, how did you find PMC? WaffleBear: I wish I could share some big story like my other answers. But no, I just was looking for a site to download minecraft skins. Then I learned I could make my own and made an account. ZappyGru: That's alright, not everything needs to have a big story! Often times, the simplest of things is the best option. |
Are there any dreams that you wish of doing or getting in the future? This applies to both on and off PMC. WaffleBear: Well, I'd really like to get better at art in the future. ZappyGru: Ah, okay! |
We're heading towards the second part of the interview, and I have a couple of smaller and quicker questions for you. Do you have any pets? (If so, send a picture!) WaffleBear: I do have some pets! I can't get any pictures on my computer but their names are Gia (dog) Frank (cat) and Sara (cat) ZappyGru: That's nice to hear! I have one and will soon have another one. Describe yourself in 3 words. WaffleBear: Not very smart ZappyGru: Nah, I bet you're a smart guy! Are you really "big guy", according to your status? WaffleBear: Well they wouldn't call me that if it weren't true, would they? Or maybe they're liars. ZappyGru: Hmm, good point! |
It looks like we're nearing the end of this interview! Any last words to the audience before we wrap things up? WaffleBear: E ZappyGru: Wonderful speech! |
And there you have it! Your favorite bear with a detective outfit has now been interviewed! What do you think? Interested to see more? Check out the Gru's News Collection for more content like this! Thank you for watching, and have a good day/night everyone!
