The Ice King
A long time ago the God of Ice, named Isendurr, lived in a castle deep in the mountains in the northern kingdom of Eratha. Isendurr was one of the elemental gods had control over Eratha. Isendurr minded his own business and didn't cause trouble. But one day, a woman had wandered into the mountains in search for treasure. Isendurr was outraged that a mortal had entered his domain. He confronted the woman and told her to leave or perish. The woman wooed Isendurr with her charm and looks. Isendurr stopped being angry and rather quickly fell in love with the woman. The woman had also fell in love with Isendurr, though. Isendurr let her live in his castle with all the treasure the woman could want, but she did not care for the treasure. She loved Isendurr, and he loved her, too.
A baby was born. Isendurr and the woman decided to name him Thorax. Thorax grew up in the ice kingdom. He was half human and half god, meaning he had incredible powers over the ice. Thorax was an adventurous lad and always wanted to explore the world. Isendurr forbid him to leave the ice kingdom because the other gods might find out that Isendurr fell in love with a mortal, which is against even the most ancient of laws.
One night, Thorax did not care about the ancient laws and left the ice kingdom and began his journey to the outside world. Thorax eventually found another kingdom and he decided to enter it. It was the water kingdom. It was very different from the ice kingdom. There was water everywhere and nothing was cold. Thorax felt uncomfortable in this area. He walked to the town square and realized he hadn't eaten anything besides penguins and polar bears on his journey. Thorax wanted some real food, but he had no money. He tried to steal some fruits, but got caught. The man who ran the fruit stand called for the guards to arrest Thorax. Thorax did not have any weapons and he was surrounded. He used his ice powers to defeat the guards. All the people watching gasped and there was loud thunder in the sky. Thorax knew the God of Water had found out.
Thorax ran as quickly as he could with no breaks to the ice kingdom. He was afraid of what may have happened to his home. As he got closer to the mountains, he could see smoke from a distance. His heart sank. When Thorax finally reached the city, he could see everything was in ruins and there was no trace of life. Everything was gone. Thorax ran to the ice castle, which was also in ruins. Thorax found Isendurr standing over his Thorax's mother's body, sobbing. When Isendurr saw Thorax, he became so outraged that he banished Thorax from his kingdom forever and cast him out. Thorax swore to avenge his mother and kill every god.
Thorax did not how he could kill the gods, since they were immortal. He had remembered of a legend of a powerful sword that could kill anything, even the gods. He traveled the world and looked for clues to find this sword. The gods did not care for his puny quest because they thought it was impossible for any mortal to defeat them. Thorax was not just a human, though. He was also half god. He eventually found the sword and went on a crazy rampage entering every kingdom, summoning the god of that kingdom, and killing them, one by one.
The last two gods on Eratha, were the God of Fire, Aracksnik, and the God of Ice, Isendurr. Thorax did not want to kill his father, only the other gods, but Aracksnik was the most powerful god of all. Thorax challenged Aracksnik to a battle, but it did not go well for Thorax. Fire is the opposite of ice. Thorax was easily defeated. As Aracksnik was about to finish Thorax off, Isendurr came out of nowhere and attacked Aracksnik. They fought for what seemed as ages, while Thorax tried to catch his breath and retrieve his sword. As Thorax picked up his sword, he heard a mighty bellow and looked back to see what had happened. Aracksnik impaled Isendurr with the Spear of Flames and killed Isendurr. Thorax became so angry that he jumped on Aracksnik and pinned him to the Ground. Thorax then put his sword the Aracksnik's throat. Aracksnik pleaded for his life and promised to give Thorax immortality. Thorax accepted the bargain and became immortal. As Thorax began to walk away, Aracksnik tried kill him from behind, but Thorax knew this was coming and he beheaded the God of Fire.
"The world does needs gods," though Thorax, "because humans can handle themselves."
Thorax went back to his home and no one had heard of him since. People called him the Ice King. Some think he is just a legend, but others think he might still be in the mountains of the north, watching over the world.
