^ For ZappyGru's Nether Skin Contest {} Story is below! ^
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Long ago, before the Soul Sand Valleys were spread about the Nether after the tragic defeat of the Pigmen or the striders’ chirps echoed across the great lava oceans, there was just the plain Nether Wastes. Deep crimson netherrack tunnels and plains for chunks around, housing the once great fortresses of the lost Pigman civilization, the Nether Wastes were a dreadful and dangerous place for the unprepared.
Here the legend starts.
Among the Pigmen in their great fortresses wandered a different creature. Some say it was an early piglin, some say a trapped player, and even others believe the cloaked figure was Herobrine himself. So they dubbed it the Gardener. You could tell if the Gardener had been nearby, from the miniature mushrooms barely surviving on the hard netherrack that grew where the Gardener had stepped, or the extra growth of nether wart in the fortresses of old times.
The Gardener traveled the bleak wasteland, and soon it’s eyes began to crave a different type of scenery. Something more lush and Overworld-ly. Something less red. So it began to plant a different type of garden, hidden deep within the walls of the Nether. There, it experimented with mixtures of both flora and fauna from both the Nether and Overworld, until it had created what it wished to see in it’s world.
Carefully, the Gardener planted its new flora into the dense netherrack ground, and as the fungal trees of the Warped and Crimson Forests grew high it released their creatures upon the Nether as well, not caring for the possible conflicts between the old and new. After a few days, the changes were complete.
The savage hoglins and greedy Piglins held their homes in the Crimson Forests, while the Endermen of the Nether shifted away to the hazy blue skies of the Warped Woods. Piglins built up their fortresses and waged war upon the Pigmen, destroying large numbers of both sides, causing the great mass of Soul Sand Valleys to scar the lands. This only added more interest to the Nether, which pleased the Gardener. No longer would they look out and see nothing but netherrack.
And here the legend ends

WhoA that was a lot of me making stuff up for why things happened in the Nether Update lol
Please, if you finished reading it, let me know in the comments how well I did with the writing! I really appreciate your feedback!
