Polonium was discovered in 1898 by Marie and Pierre Curie, when it was extracted from the uranium ore pitchblende and identified solely by its strong radioactivity: it was the first element to be so discovered.
Polonium has very few practical uses, due to the absurd amount of radiation it emits. In fact, a single gram of Polonium is enough to kill around 50 million people if ingested. For this reason, it was favored for political assassinations.
One famous example of this is Alexander Litvinenko. Even though he ingested only a few specks of Polonium, he slowly died of radiation poisoning over the next 3 days. His assassins were tracked down through the trail of extreme radioactivity left behind by the miniscule amount of polonium they had brought. Investigators described the trail of radiation as "terrifying" given how little Polonium they actually had.
I saw the periodic table contest and thought "I have do some sort of radioactive element." Given how famous Polonium is for it's radioactivity, I went with it.
I tried to get the torn up hazmat suit to match the black, yellow, and reddish brown colors of Polonium itself, with mixed results.
I'll probably be updating this skin a couple times. Best of luck with the contest!

When the end came, there were those who tried to defy it. No matter the odds, no matter the circumstance.
One was Alexandri. An old epidemiologist, he was dead set on saving humanity from the nuclear apocalypse. Taking samples from the wasteland, and repeatedly studying them in his underground lab, he strived to find some cure, some adaptation, that would save life from the radiation.
As years passed and he continued working, he found that, no matter how far he went, no matter how long he walked, he couldn't find anything that had survived the fallout.
He refused, spitting in the face of the end. He took everything he could, and set out into the wasteland. He would find something, some hint, something that could point towards a solution.
To this day, he's still going, searching for some solution. The countless years have not been kind to him, but he will never give up.
