Bleep, bleep, bleep



The guardo s eyes flittered open, his body was hunched over and his cap had fallen to the floor. He bent down, picked it up then dusted it off before placing it on his head. He turned to the computer monitor and read the message.



ALERT: INTRUDER LOCATED ON THE ROOF



o Ugho he moaned. o Those damn kids dono t know when to bloody stop messing with the sensorso



He picked up a holo torch and stumbled half-asleep over to the exit. The guard pressed the call button on the elevator, its light shining brightly in the dim hall. With a o dingo the doors slid aside and he entered the elevator. No music played and the soft whirr of the elevator kept him company on the way up to the roof.



o Now approaching the roofo said the announcer in a cool female voice. The guard pulled his cap down further and rested his hand on his standard issue plasma pistol. The elevator came to a slow stop and the doors slid open.



The cold harsh wind slashed at his face as he stepped out onto the roof. The darkness of the night shrouded the roof as he made his way to the power box for the sensors. As he walked he took a glance sideways, he swore he could have seen something.



He stopped and turned sideways. Nothing. He frowned; maybe the sensors wereno t faultyo ¦.



Suddenly he felt a strike to his lower back, he cried out in pain as his body involuntarily arched backwards. Then a second strike to his throat on his way down. His body thumped to the floor with a satisfying thud. He writhed around in pain, clutching at his throat; it felt like he was trying to breathe through a straw, he could make no sounds to call for help.



o Shhhhhho ¦.o He heard someone say, and the guard glanced sideways. Out of thin air a man materialised right in front of him. He was wearing a dark purple metallic suit, with dim blue lights and visor. The man bent down and plucked a security card from the guard.



o W-who are you?o The guard managed to hiss through what little throat he had left.



o Your worst nightmare, but you can call meo ¦ Phantomo Said a deep distorted voice.



Phantom turned away and headed towards the lift. o W-wait! D-dono t leave m-me!o The guard shouted out.

Phantom chuckled as he entered the lift, turning invisible as the doors slid close.

Phantom is a freelance bounty hunter from the future. Originally a soldier, he was captured by theenemy during a mission and was experimented on. He was turned into the perfectsuper soldier, armed with a power suit and cloaking devise,he was unstoppable on the field. However the process starting going wrong and he eventuallylost his memory. He escaped from his prison and disappeared. Now he does assassinations, espionage and hacking for hire on the black market.
