Background (in a nutshell): Born into a family living among the steampunk-themed sky-cities of apocalyptic once Earth, Elaron has always had a passon for engineering. That was, however, until one of the sky-cities' most important sources of power, alien energy forms known only as 'pearls', exploded and ripped apart her city, wreaking havoc and bringing destruction. Yet, it left a lingering residue upon Elaron, caught in the explosion's core -- one with, perhaps, unworldly features...
