Nobody knows for sure who Megatron was before becoming the leader of the deceptions but a consensus is that, for sometime, Megatronus, how he was called on that era, was a famous gladiator that had the desire to reign with an iron fist over all of Cybertron. After gathering enough followers to be considered an army he started a war to conquer Cybertron... and the rest as they say is history...
