Marshall "NuNubee" Anthony Rose
Marshall Rose was born on Sept. 2, 1950, the youngest child of the late Rev. Floyd and Josie Rose. He departed this life on June 1, 2011. He was baptized and joined the St. Peter Baptist Church at an early age. Marshall attended Central Elementary and High School in Amherst and later joined the U.S. Marine Corp. After the Marine Corp, he relocated to Alexandria and worked for Del-Ray Glass Company and later pursued his own business in glass cutting.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, three sisters, and a daughter.
He leaves to cherish his memory, three sons and one daughter, Stanley Smith (Tammy), of Madison Heights, Marshall Nelson, Quincy Nelson, of Alexandria and Denise Waugh (Jemal), of Evington; one grandson, Jemal Jr.; two sisters, Clarine Jefferson, of Lynchburg and Minister Joanna Lewis, of Madison Heights; one brother, Thurman Rose, of Lowesville; one brother in law, Rev. Dorn Lewis, of Madison Heights; one sister in law, Juanita Rose, of Lowesville; a devoted nephew, Leroy Thomas, of Amherst and a host of other nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
